Former Mayor Steps Down As Danbury Democratic Town Committee Chairman DANBURY, Conn. -- Former Danbury Mayor Gene Eriquez is temporarily stepping down as Danbury Democratic Town Committee chairman, according to WLAD Newsroom As previously reported, Eriquez was arrested Sunday, May 15 for alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident, according to police Eriquez released a statement stating that he was stepping aside to focus on family and personal issues, WLAD Newsroom reported. Hartford Man Charged In Fight With Bethel Family Member BETHEL, Conn. -- A man from Hartford was charged with fighting with a family member early Monday morning, according to WLAD Newsroom. Bruno Bastos, 27 was arrested after police responded to several 911 calls about a fight in progress on Milwaukee Avenue, WLAD Newsroom said.
