At 4:56 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, officers responded to Route 88 West after a 2021 Kia Sportage, driven by a 67-year-old Brick resident, traveled east in the westbound lane, colliding head-on with a 2025 Toyota Corolla driven by Joao Luiz, a 51-year-old Newark resident, Brick Township police said.
