Egg Recall Follows Salmonella Cases In Nearly 100 People From Coast To Coast
A multi-state salmonella outbreak tied to eggs has sickened 95 people nationwide and triggered a recall of large brown cage-free eggs sold under several brand names, federal health officials said.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Thursday, Aug. 28, that cases span 13 states, with 73 illnesses in California. Additional infections have been reported in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

The New Jersey Lottery has made yet another millionaire.
A $1 million Powerball ticket from the Monday, Aug. 11 Powerball drawing was sold in the Garden State.
The ticket was sold at Minit Mart on the 300 block of Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights, lottery officials confirmed. A $50,000 ticket was sold at BK One Stop Shop, a convenience store on East 9th Avenue in Roselle.
The winning numbers were 6, 16, 33, 40, 62 and the red Powerball 2. The Power Play multiplier was 2x, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

'Baltimore County Not Sanctuary Jurisdiction' Exec Says After Being Named By DOJ
The US Department of Justice has officially named just one Maryland city in its newly released list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” — and it's joined only by Washington, DC, as the only two locations in the DMV region.
The list, published Tuesday, Aug. 5, by the DOJ, includes states, cities, and counties the federal government says have “policies, laws, or regulations that impede enforcement of federal immigration laws.”
“Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” said US Attorney General Pamela Bondi in the announcement.
