58-Year-Old Killed In Chain-Reaction I-84 Crash A 58-year-old Connecticut man was killed in a seven-vehicle chain-reaction crash on I-84. The crash took place in Hartford County around 5 a.m., on I-84 in West Hartford near Exit 44. According to the Connecticut State Police, Gary Michael Carter, of Enfield, was killed when his 2017 Volvo TT hit the back of a Connecticut transit bus stopped in traffic in the right center lane of four on I-84. Tractor-Trailer Crash Temporarily Closes Route 17 Stretch A noontime collision involving a tractor-trailer temporarily closed a stretch of Route 17 on Wednesday. One injury was reported, though it wasn't immediately clear how serious, following the Nov. 16 crash on the northbound highway in Rochelle Park. The rear passenger side tire of a Volvo sedan that collided with the rig was sheared off. Route 17 North was closed at Woodland Avenue so the wreckage could be cleared and borough police could investigate.

Person Killed After BMW Crashes Into Back Of Tractor-Trailer On Hudson Valley Roadway One person was killed after running into the back of a tractor-trailer in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Orange County around 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 on Route 17 in Goshen. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, a 2002 BMW 330CI was traveling westbound when the driver rear-ended a 2018 Volvo tractor with a trailer in the right lane.  The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, state police said. Erik Salemke, of Bridgewater, was crossing the highway when he was struck by a vehicle on the northbound side near milepost 21.8 around 9:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Salemke was then run over by a Volvo tractor trailer, and pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.
