A 32-year-old man from Middlesex County has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a Jersey Shore man after a door-to-door solicitation, authorities said. On Thursday, May 26, Michael Tsamas, of Laurence Harbor, was charged with murder in connection with the death of Joseph Delgardio in Jackson Township earlier that evening, they said. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Closes Route 40 In South Jersey
Route 40 was closed for more than two hours Monday after a tractor-trailer jackknifed, authorities said. The crash occurred at milepost 7.7 on Route 1 near Jill Road in Pilesgrove Township, Salem County, just before noon, according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman. The roadway was shut down for the removal of the tractor-trailer and reopened at about 2 p.m., State Police said. No injuries were reported. Verizon responded to work on damage to utility wires.
