An elongated tractor trailer took down a traffic control signal in a tight turn at a Paramus intersection Tuesday, Oct. 10. The truck driver was turning right from A&S Drive onto Winters Avenue, when a car coming toward him forced him to quickly steer more to the right, around 1 p.m., sources tell Daily Voice. Because of the quick steering move, the wide turn became a tight one, and the trailer bed ended up toppling the traffic signal outside of the Oradell Animal Hospital. Bollards planted around a roadside electrical box mostly did their job during an early-morning crash Wednesday in Ridgewood. No injuries were reported after a Jeep Wrangler and Mercedes sedan collided outside the Bergen County Duck Pond in front of Valley Health Systems on East Ridgewood Avenue near Paramus Road shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sept. 13. Lane Closure: Route 6 In Cortlandt To Be Affected
Traffic on a busy main route in Northern Westchester will soon be affected by a closure that will only allow traffic to pass through a single lane controlled by a temporary signal. Beginning on Friday, July 21 at 3 p.m., Route 6 in Cortlandt at Roa Hook Road will be reduced to a single lane, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
