Newark Man Guilty Of Assaulting Pregnant Wife: Prosecutor
A 31-year old Newark man was convicted on Wednesday, June 4, of attacking his pregnant wife, authorities said.
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, Milton Chogllo choked and beat his wife, 32-year-old Christina Leon, outside their home on Bergen Street in Newark, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said. Leon's 14-year-old daughter witnessed the attack and testified against Chogllo , Stephens said.
Leon was six months pregnant at the time, Stephens said.
Chogllo will be sentenced in July, Stephens said.
