A "smash and grab" robbery was reported at Freehold Raceway Mall, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The robbery occurred at about 11 a.m. at a mall jewelry store off Route 9, reports said.The suspects, in a white Honda Accord with tinted windows, reportedly smashed a display case to make off with the jewels. Colts Neck Football Lineman, Parents Die In Route 9 Crash
Three family members have died as a result of a weekend crash on Route 9, authorities said. Masoud B. Salib, 61, and his wife, Hanaa I. Salib, 52, died on Sunday, July 3, while their son, Mark M. Salib — a former Colts Neck football lineman — died on Tuesday, July 5, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. The Salibs are survived by another son, Danny. A GoFundMe page was launched for Danny said his parents dedicated their lives to their children, church and the community. "They were loving, selfless, and empathetic," it reads. Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Lakewood
An unidentified woman was struck and killed by a vehicle, authorities said. The crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Madison Avenue (Route 9). Police found a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive woman lying in the roadway. First Responders Called In Separate Route 9 Woodbridge Crashes
Police, firefighters and EMS crews responded to two separate Route 9 crashes, authorities said. The first crash reportedly involved a pedestrian about 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Routes 1 and 9 southbound south of Randolph Avenue, according to initial reports. That victim was taken to Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick. A second crash was reported on Route 9 near Green Street about 9:30 a.m., reports said. Motorists planning to travel on Route 6 in Northern Westchester will be detoured for two weeks as crews work to replace a guard rail in the area. Fatal Crash Causes Hours-Long Closure On Taconic Parkway
This story has been updated. A stretch of the Taconic State Parkway was closed throughout the morning commute following a fatal crash. The closure was southbound in Hopewell Junction between Route 29/Carpenter Road and Route 52.
