: Driver, 79, Hospitalized After Sedan Hits Saddle Brook Home
A 79-year-old Saddle Brook driver lost control of her sedan while parking and ended up hitting her neighbor's house. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with what police Capt. John A. Zotollo, Jr. said was a minor injury after her Acura TLK crashed into a corner of the Schepis Avenue home shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday. The impact damaged the electrical panel and forced township firefighters to shore up part of the building. A township building inspector, a PSE&G crew and police also responded, Zotollo said. Boyd A. Downed Power Line Ignites Multi-Vehicle Fire At Hackensack Apartment Complex
A sedan was incinerated and an SUV totaled after a downed power line ignited a fire at a Hackensack garden apartment complex. Firefighters had to wait for a PSE&G crew to secure power before dousing the burning vehicles at the Summit Gardens complex off Essex Street near northbound Route 17 shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday. They then prevented the fire from spreading. No injuries were reported and no residential property was damaged in the Arcadia Road incident.

Fire Investigators Examine Fort Lee House Blaze
Firefighters contained a Fort Lee house blaze to a front bedroom after a passing lieutenant saw smoke. Fire Lt. Phil Craddock was driving on the Route 1&9 overpass around 4:45 p.m. Monday when he spotted the smoke coming from the two-story home at 2068 Jones Road just below. Sparking wires downed by the overnight storm Monday closed Sylvan Avenue in Englewood Cliffs in both directions and melted some of the roadway, authorities said.
