Increased Vehicle Thefts Reported In, Around Hunterdon County Vehicle thefts and burglaries are on the rise in Hunterdon and surrounding areas, authorities said. “The recent rise in car thefts is not isolated to Hunterdon County alone; the surrounding counties are also experiencing this surge in crime,” said Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams in a statement on Thursday, Jan. 2. In most cases, burglarized vehicles were left unlocked or had the keys/key fob inside, Williams said.
