Bull Attack Kills Farmer, US Army Veteran: Officials
A 52-year-old Pennsylvania man has been killed in a bull attack on his farm, authorities said on April 30. Richard “Rick” David Joy of Scrubgrass Road, Jackson Center died from his injuries from the bull attack on April 23, according to the Mercer County Coroner's office. Rick was doing routine work in his pasture when his bull became aggressive and attacked him around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, as explained by the Pennsylvania State Police. A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a convenience store in Atlantic County, officials said. The ticket was purchased at the Wawa on Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, the New Jersey Lottery said in a news release. FDA Recalls Westport Oysters After Norovirus Outbreak
The US Food and Drug Administration has recalled oysters grown and harvested in Connecticut following an outbreak of norovirus. In a notice on Thursday, March 14, the FDA said the outbreak was caused by oysters sold by Norwalk-based Norm Bloom and Son harvested in February. Although the FDA did not give many how many people were sickened, they did reveal the contaminated batch was associated with an outbreak in Minnesota. Yinmei Zeng, 37 of Ohio, has been held for drug offenses, prostitution, and fleeing from the police since Dec. 2023, court records show. A Parkesburg man is charged with felony "swatting" in Ohio, according to borough police. Michael Eugene Carpenter was arrested on an Ohio warrant on Tuesday, Jan. 9, authorities said in a release. "Swatting" involves reporting a false crime to authorities — often a bomb threat or hostage situation — to provoke a police response, officials said.
