A Long Island woman was arrested after allegedly coughing and spitting in a home saying she had the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and then kicked an officer in the face.
Jasmin Santana, 38, of Elmont, was arrested around 8:50 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, after Nassau County police responded to a call for help, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, a 19-year-old woman reported that Santana told her she had COVID-19 and was coughing and spitting on doors throughout the home.

A Long Island man was charged after allegedly barricading all of the doors of his home and then setting it on fire while inside.
Kevin Meyer, 31, of East Rockaway, was charged Monday, March 30, with various crimes following the event that took place around 11:49 a.m. on Elbert Place, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Meyer, while alone in his home, intentionally set fire to the residence and called 911.
Responding officers attempted to gain entry into the home but found all of the doors had been intentionally barricaded, police said.

A Suffolk County man was arrested after allegedly being found lying in a vehicle with a hypodermic needle in his lap and for then resisting arrest.
Dion Hutchings, 25, of Syosset, was found around 840 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, on Sally Lane in Plainview, said the Suffolk County Police.
According to police, units responded to Sally Lane for reports of a suspicious person in a motor vehicle.

An Ulster man arrested for alleged DWI after crashing his vehicle had 13 active license suspensions.
Cesar Infante, 35, of Saugerties, was arrested around 1152 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, after police responded to the area of 67 Sparling Road for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch, and then proceeded to drive into a field, where it became disabled, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing two cab drivers in the face with a screwdriver in the area.
Gimel Kimble, of Monticello, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 3, after police responded to a report of an assault in the area of Broadway and Jefferson Street in the Village of Monticello, Lt. Mark Johnstone said.
