Here's How Many Long Islanders Are Without Power Thousands of Long Islanders are without power after a Nor’easter tore through the region, bringing whipping winds and rain. As of late Thursday morning, Oct. 17, 1,098 outages were reported by PSEG Long Island customers, impacting 11,498 customers, with a bulk of the outages reported on the East End. In Nassau County, 2,527 of PSEG’s 487,860 customers were reporting outages, with restoration expected no later than 1 a.m. on Friday morning, Oct. 18, while 8,970 of the company’s 638,457 customers were still in the dark, with restoration estimated at 1:15 a.m. on Friday. As of 9:35 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 39,655 of Eversource’s 1,276,791 customers were reporting outages, while 2,356 of United Illuminating’s 335,465 customers were still left in the dark.
