A man from the area is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck several times. The incident took place in Dutchess County on Friday, Jan. 27 on Wolcott Avenue in Beacon. The woman was found after Beacon Police received a call from her telling officers she had been stabbed inside her home, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson of the Beacon Police. A convicted felon is facing a fresh set of charges after allegedly trying to stab two people inside a home in the region, authorities said. Officers in Albany County were called at around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, with reports of an assault at a home in Watervliet on 4th Avenue, according to Watervliet Police.
