A Fairfield County woman with a warrant out for her arrest was taken into custody after allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Marshalls in Milford, police said. Members of the Milford Police Department responded to Marshalls on Boston Post Road at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, where there was a report of a shoplifter who had been stopped by store employees. Five people are in police custody and are facing charges for their alleged roles in a retail fraud operation that stole more than $500,000 in merchandise from Westchester County stores. Over the course of nearly six months, officials said that the group of five suspects allegedly used a machine to make fake credit cards for stores such as Marshalls and HomeGoods. Authorities on Friday evening were investigating a shooting that injured a man at The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth. The Bergen Town Center is about to get even bigger. The 61-year-old Paramus mall will soon boast several new retailers, restaurants and even more parking. A new report in NorthJersey.com said shoppers can expect a Burlington discount department store, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Express clothing store and a two-level parking structure. A 43-year-old man pinched the buttocks of a boy under age 7 at an area department store, state police from Brewster said. Troopers received a report of the unidentified male pinching the buttocks of the child under the age of 7, before asking the victim to follow him while in Marshalls in the town of Southeast on May 26.
