Tractor Trailer Crash, Fuel Spill Jams Route 287
Traffic on Route 287 was delayed Wednesday morning, Oct. 25 for a crash involving a tractor trailer and two passenger cars in Morris County. The crash happened on the northbound side in Hanover Township around 8:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. A Kia passenger vehicle, a Chevrolet passenger vehicle, and tractor trailer were all headed north when the Chevy collided with the tractor trailer near milepost 39, McNair said. A 23-year-old driver was going more than 100 mph in a crash that left three people dead earlier this week in Jersey City, authorities said. Ziyang Wang, of Jersey City, was behind the wheel of a BMW X5 M0i that struck a Kia Amanti driven by 26-year-old Dylan Weidenfeld head-on, on Paterson Plank Road around 12:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Weidenfeld and two of Wang's passengers, whose names were not released, both died. Police are on the lookout for four people who broke into a Long Island convenience store, taking off with hundreds of dollars and tons of lottery tickets. The burglary happened at 3:13 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police. Shortly before 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning, officers were called to the area of Landover Road and Old Landover Road in Cheverly to investigate a reported crash involving two vehicles. A pair of teenagers were arrested after their stolen vehicle overheated, authorities said. Three people were killed in a crash when their car left the Garden State Parkway and struck a tree, authorities said. The crash occurred at 9:52 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6 on the southbound lanes of the highway near milepost 44.6 in Port Republic in Atlantic County, according to New Jersey State Police. 12-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Route 80 Crash
A 12-year-old child was seriously hurt in a crash on Route 80 overnight in Morris County, authorities said. The child was in a Honda that was parked on the right shoulder of the westbound side of the highway at milepost 38.2 in Denville, when a Kia passenger car struck the back of the car around 1:15 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. The Honda was redirected off the right side of the road and struck a metal guardrail. A 12-year-old was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and the crash remains under investigation.

Teens Arrested Trying To Break Into Kias At Bally's Casino Parking Lot: Police
Three 14-year-old boys were arrested after three Kia cars in Bally’s Atlantic City casino-hotel parking garage were broken into, authorities said. Two of the boys allegedly damaged the steering columns of the Kias while trying to steal them, Atlantic City police said on Facebook. A third boy had credit cards retrieved from a stolen vehicle, police said.
