An investigation into the dumping of two mattresses in an empty lot in Yonkers has led to the apprehension of a local man who is now facing drug charges after being placed under arrest, police said. Members of the Yonkers Police Department and the city’s Public Safety Dispatchers began an investigation on Aug. 4 after two mattresses were found in a vacant lot on Oak Street. Man Caught By Off-Duty Cop Illegally Dumping In Westchester
A Mount Vernon man was caught by an off-duty police officer illegally dumping leaking, rusty paint cans in Yonkers. Shortly before 5:15 on Monday, July 16, the off-duty officer spotted 40-year-old Juan Valdovinos allegedly leaving the cans in a grassy area on Sweetfield Circle near Cypress Street, prompting him to alert his fellow officers. According to Yonkers Police Sgt. Jared Singer, the officer determined that Valdovinos was illegally dumping the cans, and notified the on-duty captain of the illegal dumping. Officials are taking steps to seize the pickup truck of a man who was busted illegally dumping debris from the truck bed onto a city street. Haverstraw Man Nabbed Illegally Dumping Black Top On Airmont Property
A Rockland County man is facing criminal charges and thousands of dollars in fines after illegally dumping blacktop in a vacant lot on Route 59 in Airmont. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to the vacant lot shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, where there was a report of a man illegally dumping refuse in the area.
