A 24-year-old man is in police custody for multiple alleged incidents of graffiti in Northern Westchester. Between New Years Day and Thursday, July 25, officers from the Yorktown Police Department responded to five separate graffiti complaints that were located on the sound barrier of Overlook Avenue, Route 6 and Sunnyside, a fence at Barger Street, a light pole at Old Yorktown Road and an electrical box on Barger Street. A 24-year-old man arrested for allegedly stealing 16 cans of spray paint, was later arrested for an earlier graffiti tagging of a Route 6 sound barrier. Daniel Vines-Mevec, of Buchanan, was arrested on Monday, July 15, after Yorktown Police responded to A.C.Moore Arts & Crafts at 3333 Crompond Road, for a report of the theft of 16 cans of spray paint worth $120 by two people, said the Yorktown Police. Another swastika was found Thursday at a Glen Rock school, the second such incident in a week and a half, authorities said. Up To $1,000 Reward Offered In Search Of Madison Graffiti Vandals, Police Say
The Madison Police Department is seeking the public's help in tracking down graffiti artists who spray-painted lettering around town. The colorful paint began popping up on March 14 and has been located at 18 locations, authorities said. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Morris County Crime Stoppers at 973-COP-CALL. A 29-year-old man who was caught on videotape by a neighbor painting graffiti has been arrested. Daniel Cohan of South Nyack was arrested Friday following a police investigation by the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department, said Chief Daniel Smith.
