Pittsburgh’s own hospital-set drama “The Pitt” dominated the Emmys, scoring multiple awards on Sunday night — including Noah Wyle’s long-awaited first win after half a dozen nominations.
“The Pitt,” streaming on HBO Max, took home the top prize for Best Drama, beating out a stacked field of nominees including Disney+’s “Andor,” Netflix’s “The Diplomat,” HBO Max’s “The Last of Us” and “The White Lotus,” Hulu’s “Paradise,” and Apple TV+’s “Severance” and “Slow Horses.”

Carteret History Teacher Dies After Massive Stroke: Fundraiser
Alan Harris, a history teacher at Carteret Junior High School, died on Saturday, Sept. 6 after suffering a massive stroke, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family.
Aside from teaching history, Harris was a soccer coach who also helped with the Cub Scouts, according to the fundraiser. He is survived by his wife, Holly, and his three sons, Henry, 9, James, 6 and Oliver, 4.

One of the most recognizable faces in the soap opera world has died.
Tristan Rogers, who made ABC's General Hospital’s Robert Scorpio a daytime icon, succumbed to a battle with lung cancer. He was 79.
His career spanned from 1974 to 2025, encompassing film, television, voice work, and extensive voiceover credits.
Rogers died early Friday, Aug. 15, according to his family.

Paul Hamilton, a longtime police officer in Newark, died Saturday, June 7, at the age of 49, according to his obituary.
Known for his sense of humor and love of practical jokes, Hamilton enjoyed playing basketball, Scrabble and especially loved spending time with his family, taking trips to Wildwood and Disney, his obituary reads.
Hamilton served on the Newark police force for more than 20 years before retiring and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, according to his obituary.
