Construction Collapse Injures 3 In Newark
Three people were injured at a construction site in Newark when a frame they were erecting fell, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said on the morning of Thursday, April 20. The collapse occurred on the 400 block of 4th Avenue, Fragé said. The construction workers suffered minor injuries and received medical attention from EMS at the scene, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

Two workers were killed after becoming trapped under rubble at JFK International Airport on Monday, April 3, authorities tell Daily Voice. The workers became trapped around 11:10 a.m., while relocating utility lines at an energy plant near the airport for its redevelopment project, a spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said. UPDATE: Philadelphia Worker ID'd As Victim Killed In Sea Isle City Balcony Collapse A 43-year-old construction worker from Philadelphia has been identified as the victim crushed to death by a balcony that collapsed at a Sea Isle City high-rise Friday, Feb. 24, authorities said. The victim's body was pinned under the 30-foot concrete slab for several hours before responders could cut through approximately 12 inches of reinforced concrete, police said. Construction Workers Injured After 25-Foot Fall In Marlborough: Fire Department
Two construction workers were hospitalized after falling about 25 feet off scaffolding near the Marlborough Public Library, fire officials confirm to Daily Voice. Firefighters got a call reporting the fall around 8:25 a.m. on Friday Feb. 10, Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Emanuelson told Daily Voice. Upon arrival, crews transported two male workers to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Emanuelson said. Both had significant but not life-threatening injuries. A woman who was working on a Fairfield County bridge was seriously injured when she fell through a hole and landed 40 feet below on a construction barge. : Electrician From Hudson County Falls To His Death At Construction Site
An electrician fell 40 feet to his death at a Lodi construction site. The 43-year-old outside contractor from Guttenberg was in cardiac arrest while being transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with a head injury following the 11:40 a.m. mishap Friday, Sept. 9, on Industrial Road. Fellow workers had done their best to tend to him before responders arrived, Lodi Police Sgt. Dominic Miller said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, Miller said. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification responded to collect evidence and OSHA was notified, he said.

Crane Crashes Into Building At Boston Construction Site
The Boston Fire Department said a crane tipped over at a construction site in Dorchester Tuesday morning. Fire crews rushed to the intersection of Crescent Avenue and Dorchester Avenue just after 10 a.m. when the crane fell onto the building. No one was injured, the fire department said. It's unclear what construction crews are building there or how much the tip-over will set the project back.
