Hoax Swatting Call Sends At Least 6 Police Departments To Groveland Home
A phony call confessing to a violent act, and threatening to harm first responders, led to the unnecessary evacuation of multiple Groveland residences and the gathering of multiple police departments, officials say.
The person behind the fake 911 call, made on Wednesday, Feb 1 around 8:45 p.m., said that he was on Marjorie Street and confessed to both hurting someone and that he would hurt first responders, according to the Groveland Police Department.

Suspicious CT Shooting Leaves Man, Woman Dead
A man and a woman were shot and killed in what police are calling "suspicious deaths."
The two were discovered in a Hartford County home in East Granby around 5:45 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28 on Wynding Hills Road, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Preliminary information says troopers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call reporting gunshots, state police said.
Troopers and East Granby Officers responded to the residence, where they located two adults, a male, and a woman, with apparent gunshot wounds. Both adults were pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

Victim & Officers ID'd In Fatal Police-Involved Shooting In Somerset County
The victim of a fatal police-involved shooting in Somerset County, along with the involved officers, have been identified, the Office of the Attorney General said on Wednesday, April 27.
The victim is 24-year-old William Brink of Salisbury, the office said. The involved officers are Corporal Jason Dykes, a Maryland State Trooper, Sergeant Kevin Goepfert, with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, and Deputy First Class Anthony Jackson, also with the office.
Brink was shot during an altercation in Westover on Monday, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.
