After 100 Days On Foot, Buddhist Monks’ Walk For Peace Reaches DC, Triggering Road Closures
After more than 100 days on foot, the Walk for Peace pilgrimage led by Buddhist monks will officially enter Washington, DC, this week, prompting rolling road closures across the District as the journey nears its end.
At approximately 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, in DC, monks walking from Fort Worth, Texas, are expected to cross into the city via the Chain Bridge and continue through Northwest neighborhoods under police escort, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
