Child Killed After Tree Crashes Onto Elementary School Playground
A child who was injured along with others when a tree fell on a Massachusetts elementary school playground has died, authorities said. The child, another juvenile, and an adult were hurt Monday, May 4, when a tree suddenly toppled outside Winthrop Elementary School in Melrose, firefighters said. A man is dead and another is hospitalized after the car they were in went off I-91 and fell onto a Connecticut city street below, authorities said. The wreck happened just before midnight Monday, May 4, near Exit 4 in New Haven. Authorities said the driver lost control of the car in a curve and struck a barrier on the interstate, sending the car down the embankment for the underpass on East Street. A mail theft scheme in Connecticut led to a dramatic arrest after a suspect tried to ram his way out of a police stop, authorities said. Tulio Nunez, 25, of the Bronx, now faces up to 20 years in prison. Keith Hitchcock, 68, of Groton, was charged on April 20 with voyeurism with malice, according to Groton police.
